BASICS: notes of major scale

Alle Stammtöne bis zum 24. Bund

Here is an overview of all notes of the C major scale. These are only those which do not have accidentals (sharps or flats).

Because of the structure of the semitones between E and F and B and C you get a recognizable pattern which is easier to memorize.

When the other notes are needed it is very simple to get them according to their main notes:

  • Notes with #: One fret higher
  • Notes with b: One fret lower

Important:

  • higher is always the direction to the bridge (higher fret numbers)
  • lower is always the direction to the nut (lower fret numbers).
